Great
Tew Horse Trials, 2006
The
Great Tew Horse Trials returned for their second year
on the 10th and 11th of June 2006, and the event proved
to be even more of a success than it had the previous
year .
Nicholsons
again sponsored a fence on the challenging Cross-Country
course, within easy viewing distance of the main Show
Jumping and trade arena. Attendance was considerably
'up' on 2005, with many additional marquees and exhibits,
and there was much for visitors to enjoy - not least
being the well-attended beer tent, where live World
Cup football was being screened!
Once
more, the event was organised by Davina Kerr Muir,
with Charles Etherington-Smith designing an excellent
and much commended course that encompassed most of
the key features of the Estate's sweeping countryside,
including several water features and banks. The trials
followed the established three-discipline structure
(dressage, show jumping and cross-country) and was
run under the auspices of the sport's governing body,
British Eventing.
