For more than twenty-five years Nicholson Nurseries has been a supplier to the horticultural trade, specialising in herbaceous plants, shrubs, trees, supplies and services.

We have always concentrated on growing and selling only top-quality plants, and we continue to meet the high expectations of the garden designers, landscape architects and professional horticulturalists who remain the mainstay of our customer base.

Our nursery can supply a wide range of plants, from seedlings to mature specimens, and will also strive to source unusual or rare varieties and specific strains on your behalf whenever possible. Our plant list (published separately or available on-line) should be viewed as a guide only, and we welcome enquiries and individual requests. In the main, however, we specialise in growing:

All our woodland trees can be supplied bare-rooted or container grown, while hedging stock is available from 30 centimetres to a mature 2 metres in height.

Over the years Nicholsons has been part of a team developing cultivars of Wildstar, a variety of native wild cherry. Carefully selected and micropropagated to reduce the risk of canker, this beautiful and resilient plant is a highly profitable timber tree in lowland situations. Our nursery strives to achieve a superior standard of production using loam-based composts and an integrated pest management regime. Strict and regular pruning is an essential part of our growing and we believe our plants are among the best available anywhere in the UK.

Materials & Supplies
Nicholsons also holds in stock an extensive array of fertilizers, mulches and composts, as well as irrigation equipment, stakes, canes, fencing materials, gates, containers, tree protection, landscaping supplies and other gardening sundries. Area Coverage
Customers come from far and wide to visit Nicholsons. There are few other nurseries offering such a variety of native trees, hedging stock and herbaceous plants at such competitive wholesale prices. Although based in Oxfordshire, we regularly welcome visitors from all the surrounding counties: Buckinghamshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire included!
