Nicholson
Nurseries held an Open Day on Saturday, October 14th
2006.
Several
hundred visitors took the opportunity to stroll through
the entire Nursery site, seeing not only the Plant
Centre and associated shrub and herbaceous displays,
and the Italian topiary, but also the wholesale and
commercial sectors, where native trees for woodland,
forestry and hedging are cultivated.
The
large barn was converted into a refreshment and children's
entertainment venue for the day, with generous (and
very tasty) Bacon Butties on offer, washed down with
tea, coffee, wine or Hook Norton bitter, and with
home-baked cakes and biscuits to follow.
Three
photographic galleries are presented here - one containing
images of the staff at work, another for the plants
they tend, and a third to give a sense of the occasion.
Click on the picture links below to visit the three
pages, and once there, click on any image to view
an enlargement.
